"7/9/1" Tailgating TimesWhen kickoff is set for noon or 1 p.m. tailgate lots will open at 7 a.m. If kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. tailgate lots will open at 9 a.m. For evening games, lots will open at 1 p.m. All fans are encouraged not to come before these times as traffic lineups will not be permitted.
ParkingMichigan State University provides a number of parking options designed for fans attending football games. All parking locations will not open until five hours before game time. They will close two hours after the end of the game. Please note: No trailers or other towed units will be allowed in any of the general public parking areas. Parking is limited to single unit vehicles only.Priority Parking Permit Season priority parking permits are available for donors to the Ralph
Young Fund. This is the best method to ensure yourself a premium parking
location. Public parking Convenient public parking is available on-campus for $15. For your enjoyment, the University is providing a non-alcohol parking are in the lot south of Munn Ice Arena for $15. Additional outlying areas are available for $10. Public parking is available for $10 per space in all north campus lots except Lot 11 (Library). Handicap parking Handicap parking is available in Lot 48, south of the Natural Resources Building. Parking in this area costs $10 and includes a shuttle ride to the northeast corner of the stadium. A handicapper permit is required. The shuttle starts two hours before the game and runs until a reasonable time after the game. The shuttle bus from the stadium back to the handicapper parking area is accessed from the north end gates. RV parking Recreational vehicle parking is available in Lot 92 on Service Road between Hagadorn and Bogue for $30. Shuttle parking Shuttle bus service is available from Lot 89 at the corner of Mt. Hope Road and Farm Lane. The shuttle starts two hours before the game and returns for a reasonable amount of time after the game. The cost is $3 per game for a round trip ticket or $21 for a season pass. Parking is free. Charter Buses Charter buses parking is now located in Lot 59 off of Wilson Rd. and west of Red Cedar Rd. Charter bus parking is $30/bus. Tennis Courts Tennis Court parking located on Wilson Rd. is now a student pass lot. ASMSU is organizing a lottery system for issuance of the $15/game parking passes. More information will be provided once details are finalized by ASMSU.
TrafficFrom the East Those approaching campus from the east (I-96) are advised to take the Okemos Road exit. You will be routed from Okemos Road and Jolly Road to the shuttle parking areas located near Farm Lane and Mt. Hope Road. The parking is FREE and the cost of the shuttle is $3.00. Fans with parking passes should follow Jolly Road to Hagadorn Road and go north to Shaw Lane. Enter campus on Shaw Lane and proceed to your designated lot. From the West Fans traveling to the football game from the west side of the state should follow I-96 to 127 north and exit at the Jolly/Dunckel Road exit. Go east on Dunckel Road to Forest Road. You will be routed to shuttle parking near Farm Lane and Mt. Hope Road. The parking is FREE and the cost of the shuttle is $3.00. From the North / South Fans traveling to the football game on 127 (north or south) can exit onto Trowbridge Road. This route typically gets heavy traffic and may be congested because of the normal traffic flow in the area. Another option would be to take the Kalamazoo Street exit. Fans with parking passes may want to use the route closest to their assigned parking area. Because of highway repair projects under way in the Lansing/East Lansing area, fans coming from out of town should expect delays and allow extra driving time. Please be patient and follow traffic routing instructions to ensure that you get to the game in a safe and timely manner.
